Nelson Mandela's health is progressing "remarkable", said his daughter, Zindzi Mandela, told Sky News on the occasion of the celebration of the 95th birthday of former South African, who remains hospitalized.
Mandela in hospital since last June 8 following a lung infection, communicates with gestures and family can watch television, according to the daughter.
"In his eyes, he is still the same energy and strength," he added Zindzi Mandela, he is confident that his father can get out "soon" MedicClinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria.
Zindzi Mandela, 52, was 3 years old when his father was sentenced to prison and, along with her sister Zenani, spent much of his childhood changing schools since his mother, Winnie, was constantly stopped by the then racist regime.
The daughter recalled everything that happened then to the family, "all the trauma, harassment, brutality of the apartheid regime. I felt vulnerable", but admitted he could overcome these things through their conversations with him.
As reported, the family plans to give to Mandela a composition of photos of their relatives, because "of course, is very difficult to have a perfect gift" for him.
South African President Jacob Zuma said Mandela is improving at a "steady pace".
To date, the last part of the Presidency, released last week, indicated that the state of Mandela was "critical but stable" and responding well to treatment.
